All About Us

I grew up in Maine then came to Georgia to attend Mercer University. After graduation and three kids I went back home one year to live and get back on me feet after a divorce.  I then came back to Georgia and haven't left since.  I'm a mother, teacher, writer, runner, and coach. I have a PhD in Educational Leadership. If you want to read my 200 page dissertation you are welcome to, but it is one of the most boring pieces I have ever written since doctoral programs frown on a witty sense of humor. I'm married to my best friend of 22 years and together we parent Stephen, Ezekiel, Josephine, Elijah and Colin. We have two dogs, two cats and a fish. Life is busy around here for the following reasons:

Stephen- high schools student who hates school and loves wrestling.  I on the other hand do not like 5:30am drives to a smelly gym to get bleacher butt for said son to wrestle until 9pm and then come back and do it again the next day. I do it because I love him and despite the fact that I don't know what the hell is going on I get to scream as loud as I want!

Ezekiel (Zeke)- lives with his dad on the North side of Atlanta so he can go to a school that has a program where super smart kids acquire high school credit early.  He also wants to attend a science math magnet school in that district.  Traveling on weekends to get him is a haul, but it also means that we get to hit all the great food and attractions in the big city!

Josephine (Josie, Boogers, Boogs)- our only girl and she's a busy one! Josie plays club volleyball and sings in the chorus at school.  Club volleyball= traveling into Atlanta two nights a week, then all day volleyball tournaments anywhere in the states of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama! She's learning to cook and makes awesome chocolate chip cookies! Hey, we teach the necessities of cooking first here, and nothing is more essential than a really great chocolate chip cookie!

Elijah (LiLi or Lie) and yes we know he will hate this nick name! Elijah has epilepsy, migraines and rheumatoid arthritis. He's currently on a hiatus from his usual busy athletic schedule as we try to get his seizures under control and find sports that will not cause impact to his head because his brain sits too close to the brain stem. No worries for Lie though because he's a very organized young man who is great at filling the time sports use to take up by drawing and writing.

Colin (Wiggies) and yes we know that he will also hate this nick name, but that's what happens when you are born last and all the good nicknames are taken (like Boogers). Colin is sweet and has a great imagination.  Currently he is planning his life as a con man. Colin loves to play outside and helping other people clean (as long as they don't live in this house). Colin runs, and runs and runs. He's completed a couple races and looks forward to when he's bigger and can run a 5k with mom.
